In his photographic work, Jason seek to investigate issues that he has faced in his life in hopes of gaining a greater understanding of them. Jason believe understanding the past helps him to move forward in life and in creating artwork. This is way he prefers to work in an analog, film based photographic world. Working in this manner connects me to the early origins of photography and its practices.  It helps him to appreciate the roots of photography and in doing so it gives new directions to his art making practices.

As an artist and an art educator, Jason strongly believe that everyone should be exposed to the arts, whether visual or performing arts, the arts in general have the power to change how one thinks of themselves and the world at large.  Art offers a vast and varied world and the power of creativity has the ability to solve many problems in the world. Art can be as strong as any army.
